39 Oreos, divided (or 13 Oreo cookies and one prepared Oreo pie crust)*
1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted*
8 oz. cream cheese, softened*
1/3 c. sugar
2 c. thawed Cool Whip*
**To make vegan use vegan versions of these ingredients.

Crush 26 of the cookies; mix with butter until well blended. Press firmly onto bottom and up sides of 9-inch pie plate. Refrigerate while preparing filling.

Chop 9 of the remaining cookies, set aside. Beat cream cheese and sugar in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add chopped cookies and whipped topping; stir gently until well blended. Spoon into prepared crust. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or until firm. Halve 4 remaining cookies; stand on cut edges around center of pie. Store leftover pie in refrigerator.

This is a pretty good vegan dessert to make, but make sure to carefully check ingredients. Sometimes Oreos are vegan, sometimes not. If in doubt, use Newman O's (all natural brand). The Walmart brand fat-free non-dairy whipped topping
is so far the only one we have found that is actually vegan. Tofutti cream cheese is the only vegan brand worth buying.
