Wild Rice Hot Dish Recipe

1 lb. Jimmy Dean sausage
1/2 c. butter
1 medium onion
1 c. wild rice
1 T. chives
(soak overnight)
1/2 c. slivered almonds
1 1/2 c. water
2 (4 oz.) cans mushrooms,
1 1/2 c. chicken broth
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese

Partially brown sausage and add onion, chives, almonds, mushrooms, butter and wild rice. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes. Add water and broth; boil slowly for 45 minutes. Stir in cheese. May be served immediately or reheated at 325 for 35 minutes.
