2 c. flour
1 T. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. baking soda
6 T. butter
1 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk all at once; stir until dough clings together and forms a ball. Knead dough 10 to 12 strokes on lightly floured surface. Pat or roll to form a rectangle about 1/2 " thick. Cut into squares with knife or rounds with 2" biscuit cutter. Place on cookie sheet and brush tops with additional buttermilk. Bake in preheated oven 450º 15 to 18 minutes.
