5 onions, sliced
1 lb. meat cut in 1 inch cubes
5 potatoes
Other vegetables such as carrots, as desired
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Melt a little fat in a kettle and fry the onions and meat until brown. Cover them with cold water and bring to a boil. Cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours, add the potatoes, and continue to cook slowly until they are tender. Season to taste.
