4 tbsp. sugar, divided
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. minced fresh parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1 bunch red leaf lettuce
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
1 small red onion, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
In a small skillet melt 3 tbsp. sugar and add almonds; stir till coated. Cool and break into small pieces.
In a small jar, combine oil, vinegar, parsley, salt and peppers and remaining sugar; shake well.
Just before serving combine lettuce, oranges, onions and almonds. Shake dressing and pour over salad.
