1 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
1 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the oven to 350 degrees. With a mixer, blend the sugar and butter until fluffy. Add the rest of the ingredients. Form the dough into balls (about the size of a teaspoon) . Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned. When the cookies are still slightly warm, sift powdered sugar over the tops.

This is one of my very favorite cookie recipes. It is so easy and the cookies melt in your mouth. Not too sweet. These cookies make a great Christmas or birthday gift. I almost always make a double recipe.
