1 c. molasses
1 c. brown sugar
9-inch pie pans
fresh snow

Directions:

Fill pans with fresh snow. Set outside in snow to chill. Combine molasses and brown sugar in 2-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil on medium heat. Continue to boil, stirring occasionally.

After 5 minutes, test syrup by dripping from spoon onto cold water. Boil to firm ball stage, 425º on thermometer. Remove from heat. Pour into small pitcher. Fetch pans of snow and pour fast into snow. When hard, break it into bite sized pieces.
