1/4 c. butter
3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
3 Tbsp. buttermilk

2 1/4 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan combine butter, cocoa, and buttermilk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Stir in pecans.

If you don’t have buttermilk, substitute sour milk in the same amount. For each cup of sour milk needed, place 1 tsp. lemon juice or vinegar in a glass measuring cup. Add enough milk to make 1 cup total liquid; stir. Let mixture stand for 5 minutes before using.
