1/4 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
2 apples finely chopped
(sour milk = milk + vinegar)
1 pear chopped (optional)


1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 T. soft butter

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Combine dry ingredients and add to beaten mixture alternately with sour cream. Fold in chopped fruit. Spread batter in a greased 9" x 13" pan. Combine topping mixture in a bowl and spread over batter. Bake at 350 F for 35 to 45 minutes.

Cake will be lighter and more flavor if a peeled finely chopped pear is added to the apples.
