1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 T. milk
2 c. quick oats
1 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, soda, salt and spices; set aside. Combine sugar and shortening, creaming well. Beat in egg and milk. Add flour mixture, mixing well. Stir in the oats and raisins. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto lightly-greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375º for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
