3 c. water
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. cold water
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the 3 cups water in a heavy saucepan until boiling. Stir the cornmeal into cold water. When this is well mixed, stir into the boiling water. Add the salt and cook until thick, stirring often. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes longer. Remove the mush from heat and pour into a greased loaf pan. Chill well. Slice about 1/2 -inch thick, dip each slice in flour and fry in hot fat for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown on both sides.
