1 gal. sliced cucumbers

1 c. pickling lime
2 gal. water

1 Tbsp. salt
1 qt. vinegar
6 c. sugar
2 tsp. pickling spices
1 tsp. celery seed

Directions:
Directions:

Dissolve lime in water. Add cucumbers and let sit 24 hours. Drain.

Wash 3 times in fresh cold water, and soak in clear cold water 3 hours. Drain well.

Mix salt, vinegar, sugar, pickling spices and celery seeds. Bring to a low boil, stirring until sugar dissolves, and pour over cucumbers. Let stand overnight.

Boil 30 minutes and fill sterilized jars. Cap jars and process 10 minutes for pints and 15 minutes for quarts in a boiling water bath canner.
