We are a people steeped in tradition and pride in our heritage. As food nourishes our bodies, our families nourish our souls.

The 2008 Walker Family Reunion stands as a tribute to Dave and Ella Walker along with their children: James, Lily, William, Susie, Elmyra, and Willis. Because of them, we've come together to cherish memories, educate our youth, and re-connect with one another.

This cookbook is dedicated to the strong roots that were planted so long ago. Through their love, hard work, and dedication to future generations the new vines are able to thrive today. To them we say, "thank you". To our younger and future generations, we ask that you always remember and honor your past. Know of the joy as well as the heartache. Learn from it and then flourish!

Our hope is that the recipes on these simple pages will serve you well. It's a keepsake, but it's also a source of family history, love, and nourishment. Enjoy!
