1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
3 C hot water
2 C day old bread, crust removed, cubed, and packed
3 eggs, beaten
1/4 C raisins
1/4 C coconut
1 T butter, melted
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Almond Sauce:
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C water
1/4 C butter
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp almond flavoring

Directions:

Combine milk, water, and bread; cool. add remaining ingredients and pour into a 2 quart casserole. Place casserole in a pan of water and bake at 350º for 1 hour or until firm. Serve with sauce.

Almond Sauce:
Boil together sugar, cornstarch, water, and butter until sugar is dissolved. Add a little of the hot mixture to the egg and then the egg mixture to the sugar mixture. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, remove from heat, and add flavoring. Serve warm.
