1 pound loaf French bread, sliced or whole
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, cut into cubes
8 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk
6 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup maple syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Cut bread in 1 1/2-inch cubes. Place half in bottom of buttered or sprayed 3-quart baking dish. Sprinkle all the cream cheese on top. Sprinkle on remaining bread cubes.

Beat eggs in large bowl until blended; add milk, melted butter and maple syrup. pour over bread cubes and press down firmly with a spoon or your hand. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate from 2 to 24 hours.

Remove plastic wrap and bake in a preheated oven at 325º for 35 to 40 minutes. Let stand for a few minutes before serving. Cut in chunks or scoop out and pass extra maple syrup or jam. Great with crisp bacon, ham or sausage and fresh fruit
