4 Quail breasts
1 package premium thick cut bacon
1 cup soy sauce
1 T. garlic powder
1 package toothpicks

This is a great simple recipe to have on hand when quail season kicks into high gear in the fall. And if you don't count a dove hunter as a friend, Shallhoobs can often come through.

Combine soy sauce and garlic powder in a bowl, place dove breasts in rendering and let marinade for 1 hour. Cut bacon in two pieces. Wrap dove in bacon securing with a toothpick. Grill over medium high heat. Grill for 10 to 12 minutes, turning them often. Breasts should be firm to the touch, and bacon cooked through. Serve warm as an appetizer.
