1 (14 oz.) pkg. light caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk, undiluted
1/3 c. evaporated milk, undiluted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 pkg. German choc. cake mix
1 c. chocolate chips
3/4 c. margarine, melted

Directions:
Directions:
In heavy saucepan, combine caramels and 1/3 c. evaporated milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until caramels are melted. Set aside.
Combine dry cake mix, margarine, 1/3 c. milk and nuts. Stir by hand until dough holds together.
Press half of dough into a greased and floured 9x13 pan.
Bake at 350º for six minutes. Remove from oven and spread caramel mix over baked layer. Then sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
Crumb remaining cake mixture over top of chips. Bake 15 to 18 minutes longer. It may appear not to be thoroughly cooked, but once it cools, it will be soft and chewy. Cut into small bars.
