=============================================================

My maternal grandparents were German-born immigrants who settled in Hondo, Texas. This particular region of Texas Hill Country has many German residents, as well as their traditions. The neighboring towns of New Braunfels and Castroville are known for restaurants dedicated to German cuisine. I remember a café in New Braunfels that prepared a wonderful Veal Schnitzel and German-style potato salad, which I will share with you. Venison sausage is also excellent with these potatoes.
