1 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 egg
nuts and fruit (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins (in water to cover) for 3 minutes, lid on. Drain raisins. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add shortening. Add milk, egg, raisins, nuts and fruit. Stir to combine. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 º for 1 hour.
