1 1/2 lb stew meat
2 tbsp cooking oil
Water
Cooking wine
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup sliced onion
8-oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tbsp Worchestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
4 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Cooked noodles or rice

Directions:
Directions:
Brown stew meat in cooking oil, add water, cover and cook until tender (I add some cooking wine to the meat, it gets tender faster). Add carrots, onion, tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worchestershire sauce and water. Cook until vegetables are tender. Combine cornstarch in cold water and add to the beef mixture. Stir until thick and bubbly. Serve over cooked noodles or rice. Serves 4.
