1 c shortening
2 c sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 t vanilla
1 c milk
1 t nutmeg
4.5 c flour
4 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1 t salt

Frosting:
3 T butter
1 1/2 c confectioners sugar
1 T milk (may need more, may need less)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add vanilla to beaten eggs; then add this to sugar mixture. Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture alternately with 1 c milk. Chill overnight.

Roll out cookies to approximately 1/4" thick and cut into shapes as desired. Place on baking sheets lined with parchment paper and bake at 375º for 8 minutes.

Frosting: mix together 3 T butter, confectioners sugar and enough of the 1T milk to make the batter spreadable. Frost as desired. Yum Yum.
