Caramel Popcorn Recipe

1 c butter
2 c brown sugar
1/2 c dark brown karo (light works too)
1 t salt

Bring to a boil stirring constantly, then let boil 5 minutes, stirring as needed. Take off heat and add:

1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda

Stir well. It will bubble up alot.

Pour over 8-9 quarts popcorn (large Tupperware bowl) and stir well. Divide between 2 greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 250º for 40-60 minutes, stirring every 20 minutes.

Cool. Store in an airtight container.

When I make it, I make extra popcorn in a large container. Then I shake it to make the unpopped kernels fall to the bottom. Then I scoop off the tope the needed amount of popcorn by hand into the bowl, thereby avoiding unpopped kernels in the caramel popcorn.
