4 onions sliced thin
Better than bouillion beef base
water
butter
french bread
greuyer cheese
grand marnier liqueur

Directions:
Directions:
Use directions on boullion base or cubes. In a frying pan saute butter and onions until golden and carmelized. Add onions to boiling water of beef bouillion and place low on heat covered. Add about 3 good shots of grand marnier liqueur or an expensive brandy. Cook on low for about 2 hours. When ready to serve add grated grueyer cheese in the bottom of the bowl with a small chunk of french bread and some more cheese on top of the soup and place on broil in oven. Remove SERVE

All the men in my life love my soup. I began making this in Rhode Island on a wintery day and the kids all love it. Onions make you smart.
