1/4 lb. butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 can (16-oz) chocolate syrup
1 cup plus 1 tsp all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Frosting:
1 1/2 cup sugar
6 tbsp milk
6 tbsp butter
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Beat all ingredients together in order given, adding in the eggs two at a time. Pour in greased jelly roll pan or large (15") cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes at 350º. When cool, frost.

FROSTING:
Bring first three ingredients to a rolling boil and boil rapidly for one minute. Remove and add the chips and beat until the right spreading consistency.
