2/3 c. sugar
5 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. milk
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Gradually mix in milk. Cook over medium heat, mixing constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Gradually mix some of the mixture into egg yolks. Then blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil one minute more mixing constantly. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Pour immediately into baked pie shell. Finish with Never Fail Meringue.

BANANA CREAM PIE - Line baked pie crust with sliced bananas. Pour the Vanilla Cream Pie filling on top. May be topped with whipped cream instead of meringue, if desired.

CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE - To the recipe for Vanilla Cream Pie filling, increase the sugar to 1 1/2 c. and add 1/2 c. cocoa or 3 sq. chocolate.
