2 C. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. oleo, cut up
1 c. whole almonds, chopped
1 c. whole candied cherries
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 T. milk(optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º and grease baking sheet. Combine: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbs form. Stir in almonds and cherries. Stir in eggs and vanilla until well blended. If needed add milk.

Divide dough and shape into 2-10 inch logs. Flatten to 2 1/2 inch and bake for 30-35 min. Cool them and cut into 3/4 inch diagonal slices. Bake 15 min. Turn over and bake 15 more min.
