2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. slivered almonds, chopped and toasted
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2eggs
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 egg white

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl. Combine vanilla and next 3 ingredients; add to flour mixture, stirring until well blended (dough will be dry).
Turn dough onto lightly floured board and knead lightly 7 or 8 times. Shape into a 16 inch roll, place on a baking sheet with cooking spray and flatten to 1 inch thick.
Bake at 350º for 30 min. Remove from sheet and cool. Cut diagonally into slices about 1/2 inch thick and place, cut sides down. Reduce heat to 325ºand bake for 15 min. Then turn over one more time and cook 15 min. more. Remove and let cool.
