1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 cups flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup wheat germ
3 tablespoons blackstrap molasses
Dates, raisins and nuts as desired

Preheat oven to 425º. Grease muffin pans or line with paper liners.

Mix in order given. Stir just to moisten. Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Variation: Omit nutmeg, cinnamon, and molasses. Add 1 cup raspberries or blueberries.
