2 1/3 c. flour
4 T. cocoa
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. bkg soda
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. butter (no substitute)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar and soda in bowl. Bring butter, water and cocoa to a boil in saucepan. Pour over dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Pour into a greased 9X13 pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until tests done.

(This cake is big enough for an 11X15 pan. If you do not have butter milk, use milk plus vinegar.)

Cake freezes well.

I have used this cake for the Senior Center and everyone loves it. I do use the 11X15 pan.
