3 1/2 lb. frying chicken
1 tsp. salt
1 lb. smoked sausage.
2 celery ribs, chopped
1(15 oz.) can tom. puree
1 tsp. thyme leaf
1 onion(chunked)
celery leaves
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1(10 oz.) pkg. corn
5c. reserved chicken broth
6 slices bacon(diced)
2 green bell Peppers, chopped
3 tomatoes (or 14.5 oz.can)
1 (10 oz.) pkg okra

Directions:
Directions:
Mix chicken, onion chunks,celery, and salt in a large kettle: add water to cover. Bring to boil; reduce heat, and simmer 45 min., or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken, reserve 5 c. of broth; discard onion and celery, and cut chicken into pieces.

Cook bacon and sausage in a large kettle, over medium heat. Remove bacon and sausage, reserve 1 T. of drippings in kettle. Crumble bacon; set bacon and sausage aside. Add onion, pepper, celery, and garlic to kettle. Cook at medium heat stirring constantly, until vegetables are tender. Add chicken, bacon, sausage, broth(approximate. 5 c.), tomatoes, and remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer uncovered, 1 1/2 hours. Serve over rice.
