3 C sugar
1 C butter
4 eggs
2 C very ripe bananas - I don't measure just use 5
2 t vanilla
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 t baking power
1 C buttermilk - or add 1 T vinegar to whole milk to make 1 C
4 C flour
1 C chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, bananas and vanilla. Combine baking soda, salt and baking powder with buttermilk, alternately add the milk mixture and the flour mixture to the butter/sugar. Stir in walnuts. Divide mixture between 3 greased loaf pans. Bake in a preheat 350º oven for 45 min or until set in center.

My original copy came from Mom and is on a small scrap of now very yellowed envelope (we be green for a long time) and calls for oleo. Extra bread freezes really well or see recipe for banana bread triffle.
