Filling:
1 cup ground raisins
1 cup boiling water
2/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp flour (1 1/2 works better)

Dough:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup milk
Flour to make medium dough

Boil filling ingredients together until thick. Cool. Bake at 350º. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.

These cookies are a big favorite of the Moore Family. These directions are sadly lacking. To my recollection, the dough is rolled out and cut into circles, the filling is placed on a circle of dough and covered with another circle. Then the edges are pressed with tines of a fork to seal cookie, then each cookie is sprinkled with a bit of sugar before baking.
