2 T active Dry Yeast
2 1/4 C warm Water
1/4 C Shortening
2 Eggs
1/2 C & 1 T Sugar
1 tsp Salt
3 C Whole Wheat Flour
3 1/2 to 4 C Flour
1/4 C Butter or Margarine, melted

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand for 5 mintes.
Add shortening, eggs, sugar, salt and whole wheat flour; beat until smooth.
Add enough flour to form a soft dough.
Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
Place in a greased bown, turning once to grease top.
Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down.
Divide into four portions; shape each into 12 balls.
Place 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets.
Cover and let rise until doubled (about 25 minutes).
Bake at 375º 11-15 minutes or until browned.
Brush with butter.
