2 C Flour
1 C Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 C Shortening
1 Egg, beaten
3/4 C fresh Orange Juice
1 T Orange Rind, grated
1 C Cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/4 C Walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients then cut in shortening until crumbs form using a pastry blender.
Combine egg, orange juice and orange rind.
Add to crumb mixture all at once; stir until moistened.
Combine cranberries, walnuts and stire into batter.
Pour into greased and waxed paper-lined 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan or in two smaller pans.
Bake in 350º oven for one hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes then remove from pan; cool on rack. (If using two smaller pans baking time may be shortened).
