2 c brown sugar 2 c flour
1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 c butter
1 egg, beaten 1 c sour milk
1 tsp baking soda 1 c dates, chopped
1/2 c nuts chopped
Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine br. sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon and mix well, like pastry dough. Reserve 1 cup.
2. Add egg, milk and baking soda and beat until well blended. Add dates and nuts. Pour into 9"x13" pan and sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
3. Bake at 375º for 30 min.

Substitution for Sour Milk
1 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice plus
sweet milk (regular milk) to make 1
cup - let stand 5 minutes
