5 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 pkg. dry yeast (1 1/2 tbsp.)
4 tbsps. warm water
2 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until it looks like coarse meal. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add to dry ingredients and shortening. Gently pour in buttermilk. Work to nice dough. Roll out on floured board 1/4 inch think shape and dip in melted butter. Stack twos and fold each biscuit over in half. Bake at 400º F. for 15 min. These will keep in refrigerator and they may be frozen also. Cook without thawing or rising. Put in pans ready to cook and cover with foil. When ready, pop them in the oven.

I freeze on a cookie sheet, then transfer to a plastic baggie. That way, I can cook only the amount needed at one time.
