6 lbs apples (about 12 large)
2 c sugar
1/4 c flour
11/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 T lemon juice

Directions:
Wash, core, peel and slice apples
In bowl, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir apple slices into mix. Let stand 30 minutes, then stir in lemon juice.
Cook over medium heat until begins to thicken.
Ladle pie filling into plastic freezer bags, leaving 1/2' space. Cool at room temp, then seal. label and freeze.
When ready to use, thaw and use in pies or other desserts.
* When preparing apples you can put in a mixture of 1 gallon water, 2 T salt and 2 T vinegar no longer than 20 minutes to prevent them from turning brown. Rinse and drain before preparing

Sara and I love apples, so I buy a bunch in the fall and freeze them, using this recipe, so we have easy to make pies all winter long.
