5 lbs. baby back pork ribs
2-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced, plus 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 cup sugar
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup oyster sauce
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
3 tbsp. sake
Cilantro for garnish

Directions:

Cut racks into individual ribs. Place in a large pot and cover with water. Add slices of ginger. Boil gently 1 to 1.5 hours. Drain ribs, discarding ginger.

Combine sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, grated ginger, garlic and sake. Marinate the cooked ribs in this mixture 4-5 hours in the refrigerator.

Preheat broiler (or BBQ). Place ribs in roasting pan and broil 15 min., turning if necessary.

Garnish with sprigs of cilantro (optional)

This is a wonderful, flavorful, tender pork baby back rib recipe found in a Costco magazine. When you are ready to serve, take the pre-cooked ribs out of the refrigerator, and pop them on the BBQ for 15 minutes for the final BBQ effect. Use as an appetizer or main dish. Yummmm.
