Chocolate Meringue Torte Recipe

1/2 c butter 1/2 c sugar
4 egg yolks 3 squares melted bitter chocolate
1 c cake flour 2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt 1/3 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
4 egg whites 3/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla chopped black walnuts(or regular)
1 bar melted German sweet chocolate
1/2 pt whipped cream

1. Cream butter and sugar and then add egg yolks one at a time. Add melted chocolate.
2. Sift together cake flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture alternately with 1/3 c milk. Add vanilla. Pour batter into 2 greased 8" cake pans.
3. Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually add sugar and vanilla. Spread over top of batter and sprinkle with walnuts.
4. Bake at 325 for 25-30 min. Cool
5. Whip cream and add melted chocolate.
6. Place one layer on serving plate, top with filling and place second layer on top.
