2 Cups Boiling Water
2 Cups 100% Wheat Germ
1 Cup Crisco
1 1/2 Cups White Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar packed
4 Eggs
1 Quart Buttermilk
5 Cups Flour
5 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp Salt
4 Cups All-Bran Cereal

Directions:

Combine boiling water and wheat germ. Set aside.

Cream together Crisco and Sugar until smooth. Add eggs and incorporate. Add buttermilk.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to wet mixture. Add wheat germ once the water has been absorbed. Add All-Bran to the mixture and stir until moist.

If desired, add rasins.

Bake in muffin tins at 400º for about 15 mins.

This is a great recipe! Produces enough bran muffins to feed a small army, but it is worth it. You can add blueberries, bananas, peaches, cranberries, nuts or whatever you please!
