1 can canned pumpkin
1 C sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
dash of allspice
1 tbsp melted butter
3 well beaten eggs
1/3 C milk
1 can evaporated milk
1 unbaked 9" pastry shell

Combine pumpkin, sugar, salt, spices and butter. Blend in eggs, milk and evaporated milk. Pour into pastry shell (have edges crimped high because amount of filling is generous). Bake in hot oven (400F) for 50 min or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. (I shake the pie. If it looks solid and doesn't jiggle, I assume that it is done.) Cool.
