6 pork chops, 1/3 in. thick
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 apples, peeled, cored and cut in thirds
1/2 c. chopped onions
2 tbsp. seedless raisins
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 bay leaf
2 springs parsley
3/4 c. beef broth or bouillon

Broil the pork chops for 15 min., turning once. Arrange in a casserole and season with the salt and pepper. Cover with the apples, onions and raisins; sprinkle with brown sugar, nutmeg and thyme; add the bay leaf and parsley and pour the stock over all. Cook in 375º oven, covered for 1 1/4 hour. Discard bay leaf and parsley before serving.
