1 1/4 c. water

1 1/4 c. sugar

1 1/4 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together water and sugar. Heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Cool. Add lemon juice. Chill.
Makes about 1 qt. Serve over ice and dilute to taste with fresh water.
Fruitade variation: slice ripe peaches and strawberries. Mash 2/3 of the fruit and stir vigorously into fresh lemonade. Strain, then add the reserved cut-up fruit. Chill.
