1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. groung ginger
4 tsp. baking soda
4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
In microwave melt shortening. Let cool. Add beaten eggs, sugar and molasses and mix well. Sift dry ingredients and add to molasses mixture. Roll into small one inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 mins.

Nila's Variation: Add an additional 1 cup flour and substitute margarine for shortening. Chill dough before rolling into balls.
