6 slices of bacon, cut into 1/2" pieces
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 (14oz.) cans chicken broth
5 large potatoes, diced
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1/2 t. dried basil
1/4 c. flour
1 (12oz.) evaporated milk
Shredded Cheddar cheese (optional)
Chopped green onions (optional)
2 c. half & half

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon & onion in large skillet 5-7 min. or until bacon is cooked & onion tender. Place mixture in 5qt. slow cooker. Add chicken broth, 2 c water, potatoes, salt, pepper and dill, stirring well. Cover, cook on medium-high 4 hrs. or on low 8 hrs.

Increase heat slightlly. Stir flour into half & half, pour into slow cooker, add evaporated milk, stir well. Cook 30 min. until heated through.
