1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
~28 oz prepared spaghetti sauce
8 oz tomato sauce
2 teaspoons dried oregano, divided
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, diced
8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
8 oz provolone cheese, shredded
16 oz ricotta (or cottage) cheese
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

(the ones you don't cook are fine)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
In a skillet over medium heat, brown and season the ground beef with garlic powder and 1 teaspoon oregano; drain.
In a large sauce pan, add the spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon oregano. Set aside.
In a skillet, heat the olive oil. Saute the onions for about 5 minutes or until they're soft; add and saute the garlic for about 1 minute.
Mix this with the meat then add all this to the spaghetti sauce mixture; cook for 15-20 minutes, then allow to cool.
Combine the mozzarella and provolone cheeses in a bowl.
In the same bowl, mix the ricotta cheese or cottage cheese, eggs, milk, and 1/2 teaspoon oregano.
In a 9x13 inch baking pan place just enough sauce to cover the bottom of the pan.
Layer three lasagna noodles in the pan.
Cover them with the sauce, then with the cheese mixture. Repeat the layers.
Finish with a layer of noodles and any remaining sauce.
Sprinkle the top with Parmesan cheese.
Bake covered in the oven 30 minutes.
Uncover; bake for 15 minutes more.
