8-10 hot dogs
1 c. flour
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
2 tsp. cooking oil, plus additional oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Pat hot dogs dry. In a mixing bowl combine dry ingredients. Beat together the egg, milk and 2 tsp. oil and add to the dry ingredients. Throughly coat hot dogs with batter. Heat 3/4 inch of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium high heat. Fry each corn dog for three minutes. Turn corn dogs over and fry an additional 1 1/2 minutes until batter is golden brown and slightly crispy on outside. Drain corn dogs on paper towels before serving. Large skewers or popsicle sticks can be stuck in the corn dogs before serving if desired.
