3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 sticks butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the sugar, shortening and butter well; add the vanilla and salt; then add eggs one at a time. Mix in remaining ingredients. Start with a cold oven and bake at 325º for 1 hour and then 350º for 30 minutes.
