1 Cup Flour
2 Tbsp. Sugar
1-1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1 Tsp. Salt
2/3 Cup Corn Meal
2 Tbsp. Shortening
1 Egg, beaten
3/4 Cup Milk
8 to 10 Weiners (1 lb)
Skewers

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until fine crumbs. Combine egg and milk and add, stirring until well blended. Insert skewer in each weiner. Spread each weiner with batter. Fry in hot oil until brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Batter can also be used on cheese chunks, apple slices, zucchini, etc.
