1 cup white raisins
1 cup water
1 cup margarine
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
1½ teaspoon vanilla
¼ teaspoon salt
3 cups flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped Eng. walnuts

Ingredients for Frosting
2 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
6 tablespoons milk

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water and raisins for 20 minutes on slow heat; then cool. Cream together margarine, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt (creamed mixture). Mix 3 cups flour, baking powder, soda; add to creamed mixture. Mix in the walnuts and raisins together with the water in which raisins were bolied. Spread on greased and floured cookie sheet [size 15½" x 10" x 1"]. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

While still warm, make some holes in the warm cake; spread the frosting. To prepare the frosting, mix thoroughly the sugar, vanilla and milk.
Cool and then cut into squares. Served warm is good too.
